Gas prices in Europe drop to almost $900

Gas prices in Europe dropped to almost $900 after jumping to over $1,000 per thousand square meters a day earlier, AzVision.az reports citing London's ICE.

The July futures at the index of Europe's biggest hub, TTF, traded negatively in the first two hours of the trading session. So far, the price maximum achieved in the first minutes of trading made $937.1 (-0.2% to the calculated price on Thursday - $939), and the minimum made $909.7 (-3.1%).

Experts associated the price hike with an explosion at one of the largest LNG producing plants in the United States - Freeport LNG, which will remain closed for at least three weeks. The enterprise ensures around 20% of LNG refining in the United States. Analysts expect the three-day suspension to strip the market of at least 1 million tons of LNG.
